Rupalake Restoration and Fishery Cooperative Ltd. Rupakot-6, Kaski, Nepal

The Rupa Cooperative was established on 1st Chaitra 2058 BS (14 March 2002), to:

• Rehabilitate the Rupalake to its prior state

• Generate income for its members through sustainable fishing

• Conserve local biodiversity

The cooperative has an annual revenue exceeding Rs. 60,00,000, employes 19 people and has more than 45 share members. A quarter of the cooperative’s profit is reinvested in conservation and educational and social activities in the upstream communities.
